Beijing Sightseeing: Beijing at Night | |||||
| Wangfujin AvenueThis very wide boulevard is Beijing's upscale shopping district. While Beijing isn't anywhere nearly as fashionable as Shanghai or Hong Kong, it still makes for interesting window shopping among the Chinese and international stores. The street was closed to vehicular traffic whenever we were strolling it in the evening. The entrance to Wangfujin Snack Street is located along this avenue. It is a night food market popular with locals. Its stalls offers all kinds of food from all over China.

Children AcrobaticsIn Beijing we were treated to the first of several acrobatic performances we would see in our trip. This particular one was performed by kids, some probably as young as seven. Their young age made their incredible feats even more amazing to watch. But it somewhat ruined it for us with respect to acrobatic shows performed by adults because, if a child could perform a similar act, then it must be child's play, right? |
