Pinyin Text Editor

Pinyin text can be extremely laborious to enter into a standard word processor or text editor. This pinyin editor allows you compose your pinyin text, which can then be copied into any other tool.

Directions

  • Enter your pinyin strings using tone numbers to represent the tone. For example: ni3 yao4 shen2me.
  • The neutral tone can be entered without a tone number or you can enter it as number 5, e.g. shen2me5.
  • The ūmlaut character can also be entered using the letter v.
  • You can also paste existing pinyin text with tone numbers into the editor and it will be automatically converted into tone marks after you hit any key.
